As part of our development plan, The Hyperslice Group, including our eukhost and Webhosting UK brands, have moved headquarters to the Platform Tech Hub in the centre of Leeds. This move helps us to better integrate the different parts of our company as we develop services for the future and brings our two decades of managed IT, web hosting, business continuity, cybersecurity and cloud solutions experience to the heart of Leeds’ flourishing business community.
Reaching out across the region
The HQ relocation plays a vital role in our £5 million development strategy. It enables teams from across Hyperslice, eukhost and WHUK to collaborate more closely and develop a more cohesive range of services that are better aligned to our customers’ needs going forward.
Our presence at Platform, meanwhile, widens the catalogue of services offered by the tech businesses at the hub. As the leading independent managed IT solutions provider in the UK, The Hyperslice Group is well placed to support these companies in their development and build innovative partnerships with them to improve our services and bring better experiences to our clients.
We are also keen to take advantage of the improved transport links that come from being located next to Leeds railway station and close to the M62. This will put the whole of the northern powerhouse region within easy reach, making face to face meetings with regional customers easier.
Deb Hetherington, Head of Innovation for Bruntwood SciTech, Platform’s landlord, said of the move, “We’re delighted that Hyperslice has chosen to locate their headquarters to Platform. They’ll be a brilliant addition to the community which is already home to more than 80 of the city’s leading digital and tech startups, scale-ups, and larger businesses. Hyperslice is moving into our dedicated Tech Hub and we’re looking forward to working with them to help their business grow even further, providing them with access to talent, funding, and connecting them into our large partner network.”
A new data centre for the north
In addition to the move, Hyperslice is also planning to build a new, state of the art data centre. Currently, we are exploring a range of possible sites for this facility across the north of England and hope to have the complex up and running in 2023. This will allow the group to serve a wider range of high-availability, high performance, managed IT solutions, including cloud, to our global customer base.
To prepare for the new datacentre, the eukhost and Webhosting UK technical teams have also relocated, this time to a dedicated office facility in York. This provides our teams with improved research and development resources, enabling them to develop new digital services that better meet our clients’ evolving needs, while also making it easier to access northern data centres.
A sustainable tomorrow
The Hyperslice Group fully recognises that we need to make sustainability improvements across our operations and the moves to Platform and York help us achieve this. Both offices have the highest EPC (Energy Performance Certificate) rating of A and have excellent public transport links. As a result, our teams work in more energy-efficient spaces and can make greater use of rail and bus services for face-to-face meetings with clients or when they collaborate on projects. Additionally, we’ve reduced our carbon emissions and enhanced employee work-life balance by introducing flexible and remote working, so there is far less need to commute.
Looking to the future, the building of a data centre offers us an opportunity to incorporate sustainability across our new facility. Indeed, not only will the technology be more environmentally friendly; so too will the building’s fabric and construction project. Key to our progress over the next few years is to focus our research and development teams on developing more energy-efficient, carbon-neutral hosting platforms and applications that will benefit our customers and the planet.
